Drop in, either on the way or coming home from New Farm Park; it's said to be at the Paris end of Merthyr Road, and what we do just fits in beautifully. Just chic ! The Moray Cafe - corner of Moray Street and Merthyr Road, New Farm. Phone 07 - 3254 1342. One of New Farm's original Cafes, this very reliable eatery has been around for more than 25 years and has not been weathered by time. In fact, it's undergone a few makeovers in its time, but the atmosphere remains warm, homely and eclectic. The Moray Cafe has expended its modern Australian menu to include some sensational international touches.

"We called in for a quick breakfast and realised the enticing smell of new baking presented as real threat to the waistline. Amazing selection of fresh patisserie and bread, great and responsive service. Eat out on the pavement too."
"Charming little cafe, good for breakfast, lunch and dinner, we go here all the time! They have a great cheap Tuesday too. Highly recommended.
"The big Moreton Bay Fig shades Moray Cafe's footpath diners. They, and their compatriots inside come for the friendly little cafes great breakfasts, coffee and more substantial modern Australian dishes which have taken on a more Francophile slant under new owners, the Chisholm famiiy. This is a long-standing favourite on this New Farm restaurant strip."
"This place is excellent. The service is fantastic - staff are welcoming and friendly, I've never waited longer than a minute to be spoken to about a table, they can't always seat you straight away but they will always say hi and make you a coffee while you wait."
"Take a break as you wander down the back streets of New Farm to the Ferry and pop into the Moray"
The coffee! They brew using Valentina beans, and the coffees are consistently great. Always creamy, never weak or bitter.
The food is really delicious and very reasonably priced."
"The New Farm eating precinct waxes and wanes in popularity. Some cafes, like the Moray, just keep on going. Chefs come and go, menus get up-dated, and new owners have new ideas, but there it is, nestled under its huge Moreton Bay fig tree, its outside tables sheltered under the same awnings and attracting the same clientele who know that when they're on a good thing they should stick to it. We hadn't been there for a long time, but it was still like going home. The menu is more feisty than I remember, possibly due to chef Rodney Florent, who has trained in Melbourne and Paris. He brings years of international expertise to the laid-back atmosphere of suburban Brisbane"
